Print making

 Etching into a copper plate
Etching- Using a dry needle on a dry plate. The image is made by the burs that form when you carve into the plate.
Image of the actual plate.
Print 1 without detail on lower left side of dress
Print 2 with darker tree

print 3 with fixed mouth

Hard Ground on zinc plate
Hard ground- use a liquid asphalt to mask the plate. The image is then etched into the asphalt and the plate was placed in acid. The acid then ate away at the areas where the zinc plate was exposed. This created lines without burs.

print 1 errant ghost image shows through
print 2 buffet bar is beginning to form

 Soft Ground on zinc plate
Soft ground- similar to hard ground but the liquid asphalt is worked into while it is still sticky. This allows you to create more diverse textures like the one featured in my shirt.
